On June 25, 2020, Capwell Industries Limited made a significant contribution to the fight against COVID-19 by donating 550 bales of Soko maize meal to the Meru County Government's emergency response team.

The donation is part of the company's Ksh20 Million pledge to the National COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund, which aims to mitigate the negative effects of the virus.

According to Obadiah Gitiye, head of corporate affairs at Capwell Industries, the donation will go a long way in supporting vulnerable communities within Laikipia County who have been greatly affected by the pandemic.

Each affected family will receive two packets of Soko maize meal, weighing 2kg.

As Gitiye explained, 'Times such as these call for individuals, communities, public and private sectors to rally and support each other. As a responsible corporate citizen and an indigenous Kenyan company, we will always be at the forefront and unwavering in supporting Kenyans especially during such extraordinary times when we all need to pull together as one.'

Capwell Industries Limited is an indigenous Kenyan fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturer specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of a variety of processed milled cereal products.
