On Wednesday, Mwangi Kiunjuri, the former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, launched his newly formed political party, The Service Party (TSP), and was interviewed by Inooro TV news anchor Mike Njenga.
During the interview, Kiunjuri demonstrated his mastery of Gikuyu proverbs, which left the host anchor in stitches.
Responding to criticism from Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe and Mutahi Ngunyi, Kiunjuri said, "If you slaughter your fattest cow, there will be people who will claim you slaughtered it because you noticed it was going to die from the fat. If you slaughter your less fattened cow, they will still claim you slaughtered it because you were worried it was going to die from hunger."
Kiunjuri's witty response left Njenga struggling to maintain his composure, but the former CS remained calm and composed throughout the interview.
When asked about the criticism from Murathe and Ngunyi, Kiunjuri noted that in every village, there are bootlickers and people who are hired to spread gossip.
