Senegal has been grappling with a growing number of COVID-19 cases, with 6,129 confirmed cases and 93 deaths as of now.

On June 24, 2020, Senegalese lawmaker Yeya Diallo announced that she had tested positive for the virus, urging citizens to maintain hygiene and practice social distancing.

Following her announcement, Senegal's President Macky Sall took a precautionary measure by quarantining himself for two weeks after coming into contact with someone who had tested positive for coronavirus.

Although he tested negative, the president's office stated that he would self-isolate as a precautionary measure.
