On June 22, 2020, a Nairobi anti-corruption court delivered a guilty verdict against Sirisia Member of Parliament John Walukhe and his co-accused, businesswoman Grace Wakhungu, in a Sh300 million maize scandal.

According to court documents, the two irregularly received Sh300 million from the National Cereals and Produce Board in 2004 for the supply of white maize, which was imported from Ethiopia.

Magistrate Elizabeth Juma ruled that there was evidence to show the accused persons forged an invoice to demand payment for money charged as storage fees for the maize.

As a result, the court ordered them remanded at Kileleshwa Police Station pending sentencing.
