On June 24, world marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge's charity drive brought joy to a family in Eldoret, as he made a sizeable donation to a 7-year-old girl Whitney Jepkorir.

Whitney's mother, Millicent Chemeli, a security guard, was shocked and thankful when she saw her daughter being driven into their homestead in Kipchoge's blue double cabin truck, stacked with food items.

"We have been going through a really hard time during this period. I am so happy and grateful for the timely donation," Millicent Chemeli stated.

As part of his charity drive, Kipchoge and several other athletes based in Eldoret had teamed up to lend a hand to families struggling to put food on the table in their hometown.

"I am happy that we have made her day today," Kipchoge remarked.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country, Kipchoge's foundation has been on a charity mission, feeding not only vulnerable families but also fellow athletes who are struggling.

Other sportsmen, including Harambee Stars forward Michael Olunga, have also been championing similar causes, donating essential items to communities in need.
