Manchester United's Anthony Martial scored a hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Sheffield United on Wednesday, moving the Red Devils to within two points of the top four.

Victory for Liverpool over Crystal Palace at Anfield on Thursday will mean Manchester City have to win at Chelsea to deny the Reds being crowned champions.

Manchester United's momentum is growing, with the team extending their unbeaten run to 13 games.

Anthony Martial produced two predatory first-time finishes before half-time to put Manchester United in command.

Sheffield United were riding high in March before football's shutdown for three months, but the Blades have now picked up just one point and failed to score in their three games since the restart.

Manchester United could have piled on much more pain after the break, but were content with one more goal as Martial completed his first career hat-trick with a cheeky chip from Marcus Rashford's pass.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised Martial's performance, saying, 'Very happy for Anthony. Of course when you get your hat-trick, it's just unfortunate he didn't celebrate with our fans.'

Manchester United's fifth-place finish could still be good enough for a place in next season's Champions League, depending on the outcome of Manchester City's appeal against a two-season ban from European competition.

Wolves remain level on points with Manchester United in fifth after continuing their perfect restart with a 1-0 win over Bournemouth.

Wolves' Raul Jimenez told BT Sport, 'When we are like this as a pack we can achieve anything. We have to dream big and keep going like this.'

Defeat leaves Bournemouth still in the bottom three on goal difference, with three teams tied on 27 points.

Any hope of Norwich hauling themselves out of trouble now looks forlorn as the Canaries fell to a second home defeat in a week.

Everton won 1-0 at Carrow Road to move above Arsenal into 10th, with Norwich remaining rock bottom, six points adrift of safety.
