On June 24, 2020, Manchester United secured a crucial 3-0 win over Sheffield United at Old Trafford, with Anthony Martial scoring his first senior hat-trick.

The match marked the first home fixture for United since the Premier League resumed after a 100-day break due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Manchester United's manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, made three changes to the squad that drew 1-1 against Tottenham Hotspur, with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes starting together for the first time.

Martial got the hosts off to a flying start, scoring in the seventh minute with an assist from Marcus Rashford.

However, Rashford missed a chance to double the advantage five minutes later, but Martial completed his brace at the stroke of half-time with an assist from Wan-Bissaka.

The second half saw no magical moments, but Martial went on to bag his first senior hat-trick six minutes later, clipping the ball over Simon Moore from the edge six yards out.

With United in full control, Solskjaer made five substitutions with 10 minutes to go, introducing Odey Ighalo, Juan Mata, Andreas Pereira, Dan James, and Scott McTominay to see out the rest of the match.
