Kenyan football clubs have been urged to prioritize the health welfare of their players, with Harambee Stars defender Wellington Ochieng leading the charge.
August 2019, Ochieng was injured in a match for Gor Mahia, suffering a lower limb injury that kept him out of action for several months.
However, after undergoing surgery to repair his knee before the outbreak of the coronavirus, Ochieng has made a full recovery and is now back to full fitness, having started gradual training in March.
He has expressed his gratitude to his personal trainer Clyde Mulandi of Cymba- Health, physiotherapist Mike Muniafu, and Shukin Vladimir for their support during his recovery.
Ochieng's experience has led him to urge Kenyan clubs to consider the health welfare of their players by providing medical covers, ensuring they have access to necessary medical care in case of injuries.
