On June 24, 2020, Kenya reported a significant surge in COVID-19 infections, with the total number of cases rising to 5,206.
According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, the new cases were detected from 4,859 samples tested since Tuesday.
"As you can see this disease is now spreading very fast in our community," Dr. Mwangangi said, "we continue to appeal to the public to strictly adhere to the protocols issued to remain safe."
The new cases were distributed across various counties, with 127 reported in Nairobi, 23 in Mombasa, 29 in Migori, and 22 in Kajiado, among others.
