On June 24, 2020, Kenya's Covid-19 cases continued to rise, with 254 new cases reported, bringing the total number of individuals who have tested positive in the country to 5,206.

According to Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi, the results are drawn from a total of 4,859 samples tested in the last 24 hours, with Nairobi registering the highest number of cases.

Of the new cases, 186 were males and 68 were females, with the youngest being four years old and the oldest 92 years, as stated by Dr. Mwangangi.

The CAS also noted that most patients succumbing to the disease are either diabetic or hypertensive, and that Nairobi and Mombasa's case burden is a result of imported cases.

The breakdown of new cases by county showed that Nairobi recorded 127 cases, followed by Mombasa with 36, Migori with 29, Kajiado with 22, Kiambu with 12, Busia with 9, Uasin Gishu with 5, and Muranga with 3.

Within Nairobi, Westlands recorded the highest cases with 32, followed by Dagoretti North with 18, Lang'ata with 16, and Embakasi East with 12.
