Kenya's COVID-19 cases have been on the rise, with a significant surge reported on June 24, 2020. According to the latest figures, the country has recorded 5,206 cases, up from the previous day.

Health officials attributed the increase to 254 new cases detected from 4,859 samples tested since Tuesday. The new cases were spread across various counties, with Nairobi recording the highest number of infections at 127, followed by Mombasa with 23 cases.

Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, the Health Chief Administrative Secretary, appealed to the public to adhere strictly to the protocols issued to remain safe. 'As you can see this disease is now spreading very fast in our community,' she said. 'We continue to appeal to the public to strictly adhere to the protocols issued to remain safe.'
