On June 20, 2020, armed men stormed the Nigerian High Commission in Accra, Ghana, and supervised the demolition of a newly constructed building.
The building, intended for staff residence and visiting diplomats, was destroyed in the early hours of Saturday.
Following the incident, Ghana's President Nana Akufo-Addo apologized to Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari in a telephone call.
According to the Nigerian presidency, President Akufo-Addo assured President Buhari that a full investigation into the incident would be undertaken.
Some suspects had been arrested and would be arraigned in court, the Nigerian presidency added.
