Junet Mohammed, the Suna East MP, has spoken out about the reasons behind his loyalty to Raila Odinga. In a statement made on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, during a National Assembly session, Mohammed explained that he and other leaders are very loyal to Odinga because they fear the consequences of going against him.

Speaking on the ouster of Aden Duale as Jubilee Majority Leader in the National Assembly, Mohammed reminded Duale that he had been axed from his position because he had gone against the people who own political parties in the country.

“To the former Majority Leader, politically when you see us following Baba like cows, we are fearing the consequences like you are facing today. So politics is like that,” Mohammed said, adding, “If you go against the wishes of the people who lead this country, the consequence is a good experience for me. I will be more loyal. I will sing Baba throughout.”

John Mbadi, the National Assembly Minority Leader, also praised Mohammed for his efficient work and how he championed for government business in the National Assembly. Mbadi noted that there is no other leader who will replicate Duale’s sovereignty in the House.

On June 22, 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta showed Aden Duale the exit at the Jubilee PG held at KICC, after Duale tried to do away with the Deputy President William Ruto tag but did not succeed.
