This archive report was first published on 24 June 2020.

Published on June 24, 2020, Rue Baby, a model and daughter of Akothee, has spoken candidly about her experiences with body image.

As a child, she faced ridicule from her peers, who called her 'thin' and 'sticks.'

However, Rue Baby's perspective shifted when she began to appreciate her unique features.

‘Growing up, I never really appreciated being called thin or sticks,' she said. 'I had a hard time accepting my body the way it is.'

But with time, she realized that her petite frame was a part of what made her special.

‘But then I realized it's what is unique about me and I started loving it,' she said. 'So about your various body insecurities, just own them and love them.'

Her message of self-acceptance and self-love is one that many can relate to, especially in a society where beauty standards are often unattainable.
