On June 24, 2020, sources close to the Jubilee Party revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta was planning to de-whip Deputy President William Ruto's remaining allies from government positions in the coming days.
According to the sources, this move would be the third in a series of actions targeting DP Ruto's men holding crucial positions in the National Assembly.
The exercise is expected to take place in a significant meeting between President Kenyatta and other party officials, with Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany, the Jubilee Party's deputy Secretary-General, likely to be ousted.
Kositany, a close confidant of DP Ruto, has been critical of President Kenyatta and the Jubilee Party leadership in recent times.
A senior Jubilee Party official confirmed the reports, stating that Kositany's fate would be sealed alongside other members deemed errant.
"We cannot have amidst us a person who does not support the agenda and ideals of the party and continue keeping him, we are going to remove all of them," the official said.
