June 24, 2020 - The rift within the Jubilee Party has seen Deputy President William Ruto's allies continue to abandon him at a time when he needs them most.
North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko has become the latest ally to leave Ruto's camp, citing his support for President Uhuru Kenyatta and Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i.
According to journalist Abuga Makori, Nyamoko delivered the bad news to Ruto's camp, stating that all Gusii Tanga Tanga MPs had decided to work with President Uhuru after a meeting on Friday.
This development comes as no surprise, given the recent purge by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Ruto's allies within the party.
Other notable allies who have defected from Ruto's camp include Nominated MP David Sankok and Laikipia Woman Rep Catherine Waruguru, who have both pledged their support to President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
