On Tuesday, Suna East MP Junet Mohammed made a vow to be more loyal to ODM Party leader Raila Odinga, following the ouster of Garissa MP Aden Duale as Majority Leader.

Junet's statement came after Duale read his exit speech in parliament, marking the end of his seven-year tenure as Majority Leader. He was replaced by Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya.

Junet's comments were in response to Duale's exit, and he used the opportunity to emphasize the importance of loyalty in politics. He said, 'As for Duale, when you see us following Baba like cows, it is because we fear the consequences like what you are facing today.'

Junet also welcomed Kimunya, the new Majority Leader, and encouraged him to avoid making statements that could be perceived as reckless. He said, 'This work of politics is very difficult and when the going gets tough don’t die. Remain strong, don’t say you’d rather die than resign.'

Kimunya, in his response, encouraged Duale to look at the changes positively and to understand that they happen for the greater good. He said, '…as we all go through such changes, and this is a chance to reflect and understand that it all happens for the greater good.'

Junet's vow to be more loyal to Raila Odinga is a clear indication of the party's stance on loyalty and the consequences of going against the party's wishes.
