On June 23, 2020, the acting registrar of Political Parties, Anne Nderitu, revealed that The Service Party (TSP) had been issued with a certificate of registration after meeting all the necessary regulations.

The TSP party, which is the latest entrant in Kenya's expanding political domain, is likely to be unveiled on June 24, 2020, according to reports by the Star Publication.

Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri's return to politics marks a significant development in the country's political landscape, particularly in President Uhuru Kenyatta's Central Kenya backyard.

With the escalating feuds in the ruling Jubilee party, Kiunjuri hopes to take control of the Central region with his new party, The Service Party.

Established by a group of youths under the leadership of Kariuki Munyoroku, TSP was issued with an interim certificate in January 2020 and is now establishing itself as a potential beneficiary of the looming Jubilee collapse.
