Published on June 24, 2020, Kenyan Bulletin has obtained exclusive information about a multi-billion hotel project in Machakos County, allegedly owned by Governor Dr Alfred Mutua.

The hotel, named A&L Hotel (short for Alfred and Lilian Hotel), is being built along Machakos Road and near the People's Park in Machakos.

According to sources, the hotel's design was shared on Behance by Architect Svilen Yordanov of UAE, working under Meraas Holding.

The hotel's design and photos have sparked controversy, with many questioning how Governor Mutua came to afford the multi-billion investment.

Comparisons have been made to the Sugoi Homes owned by Deputy President William Ruto, with some suggesting that Governor Mutua may have used county funds for the project.

As the public awaits an explanation from Governor Mutua, allegations of corruption and devolved graft continue to surround the project.

Architect Svilen Yordanov's design profile and plans can be found on his Behance page.
