Comedian D.L. Hughley has tested positive for Covid-19, just a day after collapsing on stage during a comedy set in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to a social media update on June 21, 2020, Hughley revealed that he had been experiencing extreme exhaustion and dehydration before discovering he had contracted the virus.

"It turns out they ran a battery of tests and I also tested positive for Covid-19, which blew me away. I was what they call asymptomatic. I didn’t have any symptoms," he explained.

Hughley, who is known for his roles in The D.L. Hughley Show, The Hughleys, Soul Plane, and The Comedy Get Down, joked that if someone passes out on stage, they should get tested.

He thanked his fans and comedian friends for their good wishes and announced that he would be self-isolating in his Nashville hotel room for 14 days.

Hughley joins a growing list of famous names who have shared their battles with Covid-19, including Tom Hanks, Idris Elba, and the singer Pink.

The US currently has more than 2.3 million confirmed cases of Covid-19, including over 120,000 deaths.
