On June 23, 2020, Dr Gor Goody, the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) Central Region branch secretary, appeared before the special senate committee during Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru's impeachment hearing.

Dr Goody testified on the dilapidated healthcare system in Kirinyaga County, speaking on behalf of the 457 health workers who were fired. She stated, “I’m here to speak on the dilapidated healthcare system in Kirinyaga and on behalf of the 457 health workers who were fired,”

She detailed several issues regarding her relationship with Waiguru, including her claim that she had never had a chance to sit down with the CEO of Kirinyaga County to discuss health matters. Dr Goody also revealed that the doctor-patient ratio in Kirinyaga County stood at 1:30,000, almost double the figure quoted by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita.

Dr Goody, who holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery, led a five-kilometre march to the Governor's office in May 2019, but was repulsed by police officers. She stated, “We have written many letters to the county government but we are yet to get a reply on our call for dialogue, that is why we came to the county to be addressed by Waiguru but no one has heeded our call,”
