On June 11, 2020, a tragic event unfolded in Lanet, Bahati, Nakuru County, where a military officer attached to the 81 Tank Battalion allegedly took the life of his wife.
According to the charges, Kennedy Otieno Oloo, the accused, willingly and unlawfully murdered his wife Leah Otieno at their matrimonial home.
After a mental assessment revealed that Oloo was of sound mind and capable of following court proceedings, he was arraigned before Justice Racheal Ng'etich in a Nakuru court.
During the arraignment, Oloo denied the charges and sought to be released on bond through his lawyer Steve Biko.
Justice Ng'etich released the accused on a Sh 500,000 bond without an alternative cash bail pending the hearing of the matter.
Further, she directed the prosecution to furnish the defense team with witness statements, with a pre-trail date set for September 14.
