On March 13, 2020, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta tested positive for coronavirus, leading to the cancellation of their Premier League match against Brighton at the Emirates Stadium in London, Britain.

However, in a separate incident, an Arsenal player tested positive for Covid-19 days before the Premier League restart clash at the Etihad Stadium with Manchester City.

The player reportedly came into contact with two more individuals, causing concern within the club.

Fortunately, after an all-negative return of results from the previous round of testing, the club was keen to test again in the case of a false positive result.

As reported by SPORTbible, Arsenal's preparations were thrown into 'chaos' when a player tested positive for coronavirus and two more had been in close contact.

The players missed three days of training before negative tests cleared them all to play against Manchester City.

After confirming to the Premier League there were no infections, the three were allowed to return to training, a day before the restart.

Manchester City went on to win the match 3-0, with Raheem Starling opening the scoring for Man City before half time.

David Luiz was at fault again in the second half after fouling Algerian Riyad Mahrez in the box, leading to a penalty for Manchester City.

Kevin De Bruyne converted the spot-kick and stretched their lead to 3 after a neat exchange in the box saw substitute Phil Foden slot the ball home.
