Published on June 23, 2020, Kuhustle, a homegrown solution for freelancer jobs, has upgraded its site with new features in response to a spike in freelance jobs over the last three months.
The platform, which has over 50,000 freelancers, reported a significant increase in the uptake of its services within the last four weeks, following a tweak in its user experience.
According to Waweru Mirimi, Customer Experience Manager at kuhustle.com, the site's redesign has allowed freelancers to select a suitable bouquet based on their needs.
Freelancers can now subscribe for a single bid at KES 200 per job or opt for more comprehensive packages such as Kuhustle Plus at KES 1500 per month or Kuhustle Premium at KES 3600 for 90 days of unlimited bidding.
Launched in October 2014, Kuhustle was borne out of the need for a reliable local platform for top freelancers to showcase their portfolios and offer their services to SMEs.
The Kenya Government's recognition of freelancing as the future of youth employment validates Kuhustle's efforts to provide a valuable platform for professionals looking to earn extra income for marketable skills.
As Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru noted, 'online work is a revolution whose time has come.'
Kuhustle, which means 'get your hustle on,' is among the pioneers of the freelance economy, commonly referred to as the 'gig economy.' The platform currently posts over 1000 jobs totaling over $920K+ for freelancers.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, Kuhustle has become a practical solution for employers looking to outsource work and eliminate HR-related overheads.
