Wahu Kagwi Opens Up About Her Struggle with Self-Esteem

On June 23, 2020, celebrated singer Wahu Kagwi shared a heartfelt post on her Instagram, revealing that she had struggled with self-esteem issues during her teens and early twenties.

At the tender age of 17, Wahu thought she would amount to nothing, but she has since used her experience to advise young men and women not to question themselves or listen to the 'devil' inside them.

"As a teenager and into my early twenties, I had terrible self-esteem issues. I felt ugly, unintelligent, and unworthy of being loved. I never thought I'd amount to anything much in life. I wish I could go back in time and tell 17-year-old Wahu that everything's gonna be more than ok," she wrote.

Wahu's message of hope and encouragement has resonated with many, and she has used her platform to caution fans against dictating how she should live her life. She has also advised her critics to focus on developing themselves to be the best versions they could be.

Wahu's story is a testament to the power of perseverance and self-acceptance. Despite struggling with self-esteem issues, she has gone on to become one of the most accomplished musicians of her time in Kenya.
