Kenya Reports 155 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Cases Rise to 4,952

On June 23, 2020, Kenya's Health Chief Administrative Secretary, Mercy Mwangangi, announced 155 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 4,952.

The cases were confirmed from 4,171 samples tested, with a total of 146,537 samples tested in the country so far.

Of the new cases, 120 were male and 35 were female, with ages ranging from one to 77 years.

The new cases were reported in various counties, with Nairobi having the highest number at 104, followed by Busia with 19 cases, Migori with 10, and Mombasa with nine.

Three more people died from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of virus deaths in the country to 128.

Meanwhile, 102 people were discharged from hospitals, according to Dr. Mwangangi.
