Deputy President William Ruto has hailed Aden Duale's service as the Majority Leader in the National Assembly, saying he will be remembered for his historic tenure.

On June 22, Ruto sent a message to Duale, saying he had set a unique and exemplary record as the Majority Leader, and that history will remember him for it.

"My dear Aden Duale, you are a leader who sets an example. For eight years, you have served our party with distinction and integrity," Ruto said.

He added that Duale's legacy will be remembered for generations to come, and that he will have several chapters in the history books.

"When the history of the National Assembly is written, you will have several chapters. May God be with you," Ruto said.

On June 22, Duale was ousted as the Majority Leader after 126 MPs signed a petition calling for him to step down.

He was replaced by Amos Kimunya, who took over the role during a meeting at the KICC, which lasted nine minutes and several seconds.

Duale thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy for giving him the opportunity to serve as the Majority Leader, and wished his successor well.

"I thank the President and the Deputy President for giving me the opportunity to serve as the Majority Leader. I also thank all the Jubilee MPs and my family for their support," Duale said.
