On a day meant to quell the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic, World Bank's David Wachira and his love, Cecilia Olaussen, decided to celebrate their love with a beautiful wedding ceremony.

Announcing their wedding, the couple revealed,

"We decided to quell the uncertainty of Covid with the certainty of our LOVE. This is for our loved ones, near and far away, that could not attend our wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Love always wins!"

David and Cecilia met in 2018 at a World Bank Youth to Youth event in Washington, DC. Their brief meeting left an indelible impression, and they spent countless hours talking on the phone and exchanging emails while David was on a short mission trip to Zimbabwe.

After several months of communication, David invited Cecilia to Kenya for her first visit, where they worked on two non-profit events and embarked on an unforgettable Safari. Despite the distance, they made it work and had the opportunity to visit each other.

It was during these visiting trips that Cecilia fell in love with Africa. David's assignment ended in 2019, and he returned to Washington, DC, where he proposed to Cecilia on November 5, 2019, during an intimate dinner gathering with close friends.

The wedding photos were taken by James Willis photography, and the couple's love story is a testament to the power of love and commitment.
