As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to ravage the country, cooperative societies are feeling the pinch. According to Urithi Chairman Samuel Maina, the economic cash crunch and failure by members to honor their monthly payments have taken a toll on these societies.

Speaking during a meeting with members from Embu County, Maina urged investors to fulfill their partnership agreements to enable the society complete its projects. He emphasized that those who have completed payment for their titles and signed for their transfers will receive their title deeds within 14 days.

With the pandemic causing widespread financial difficulties, Maina acknowledged that cooperative societies are going through a challenging time. However, he expressed optimism that things will stabilize once the country defeats the virus.

Urithi Society is undertaking about 7 projects, and Maina assured members that they intend to hand over title deeds for all the projects. He urged members to support the society by making timely payments as initially agreed.

As part of their efforts to find a lasting solution to the challenges faced by the society, Maina announced that they will be holding meetings with members from other counties.
