South Sudan has reported a significant increase in coronavirus cases, with the total number rising to 1,916 as of Monday, June 22, 2020.

The Public Health Laboratory confirmed 24 new cases, bringing the total number of cases to 1,916, while one new death was reported, increasing the total number of fatalities to 35.

According to the Ministry of Health, 66 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, with 24 testing positive for Covid-19. The new cases include 16 male adults and 8 female adults.

As of Monday, the total number of tests performed since the outbreak of the pandemic is 10,104, with 1,093 contacts being followed up currently, bringing the cumulative number of contacts followed up countrywide since the outbreak to 4,373.
