Shockwaves have been sent through Machakos County after a report emerged that 4000 minors are pregnant, with boda boda operators being blamed for luring the girls with petty money.

However, Ezekiel Mutua, a prominent figure, has shifted the blame to Kamba artists, accusing them of promoting rape and young sex among youths through their music.

According to Mutua, a 2017 survey by the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) found that Machakos County had the most vulgar vernacular music, with many artists using sexualized stage names.

One such artist, Katombi, was specifically named by Mutua, who accused him of sexualizing his name for the sake of fame.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, 34 male teenagers and 4 female teenagers were arrested in Kisii County for allegedly engaging in an orgy and throwing an alcohol party.

The teenagers are currently undergoing guidance and counseling after their parents were tracked down, and they are also being tested for Coronavirus.

As the country grapples with the issue of teenage pregnancies and promiscuity, questions are being raised about the role of parents and schools in preventing such incidents.
