On June 1st, 2020, at 7:30 pm, Bedan Muthinji was declared dead at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida, following a devastating accidental pool drowning on May 23rd, 2020.
As per his parents' wishes, Bedan's body is currently in Daytona Beach, awaiting shipment to Kenya for burial.
Following a meeting on June 2nd, 2020, at Daytona Beach, the family and friends of Bedan Muthinji have announced several updates:
- Prayers and fellowship will continue daily at 7:30 PM at Bedan's residence, located at 1025 S Beach Street, Apt 190, Daytona Beach, Florida, 32114.
- A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
- Friends and family in Kenya are gathering at Mama Bedan's home in Kangema, Muranga.
- A fundraising campaign has been launched to raise $12,000 to cover funeral expenses, including transportation to Kenya and burial costs.

The family expresses gratitude for the outpouring of support, thoughts, and prayers.
