On June 22, Kandara MP Alice Wahome skipped the Parliamentary Group meeting, citing her recent removal from the National Assembly's Justice and Legal Affairs Committee over allegations of disloyalty to the party leader.
Speaking after commissioning Kandara Police Station, funded by the National Government Development Fund (NGCDF), Wahome expressed her opposition to the changes in Jubilee Party's leadership in Parliament.
According to Wahome, the changes undermine the independence of MPs and are unconstitutional, as they were not done through voting.
Wahome, an ally of Deputy President William Ruto, also revealed that Ruto's allies have been left disappointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta's decision to enter into post-election coalitions with opposition parties without consulting them.
These coalitions include pacts with the Kenya African National Union, Wiper Democratic Movement, and Chama Cha Mashinani.
