On June 23, 2020, the High Court ordered the remand of police officer Duncan Ndiwah at Capitol Hill Police Station until Wednesday for bail application in connection with the killing of a Standard Eight pupil, Yassin Hussein Moyo.

Justice Luka Kimaru directed lawyer Danstan Omari to file and serve the bail application before 1pm on Tuesday.

Mr. Ndiwah denied shooting and killing Moyo on March 30, 2020.

State Prosecutor Gikui Hichuhi informed Justice Kimaru that the Director of Public Prosecutions would be opposing his release on bond.

Mr. Ndiwah had skipped court last Friday to undergo a Covid-19 test at the Mbagathi Hospital, citing the absence of reagents.

However, he was later examined at the Aga Khan University Hospital, where he tested negative for Covid-19.

He will remain in police custody until Wednesday when his bail application will be heard and determined.
