A police officer has been charged with murder for allegedly killing a 13-year-old boy while enforcing curfew in Nairobi.

On June 23, 2020, Duncan Ndiema appeared before High Court Judge Luka Kimaru at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi.

Ndiema pleaded not guilty to the murder charge, and his lawyer, Danstan Omari, requested bail for his client.

However, Justice Kimaru ordered Ndiema to be remanded at the Capital Hill Police Station until a bail hearing on June 23, 2020.

The suspect was initially scheduled to take plea on June 19, 2020, but the case was postponed due to his hospitalization for Covid-19 symptoms.

The alleged offense occurred on March 30, 2020, at Kiamaiko in Huruma, Nairobi.
