Former Manchester United midfielder Quinton Fortune has set his sights on becoming the club's manager in the future.

Fortune, who played for Manchester United 76 times between 1999 and an unspecified date, is currently coaching the Under-23 side at Old Trafford.

At 43, Fortune hopes to be considered for the Manchester United job in the near future, despite having limited managerial experience.

Fortune, who is South African, is aware of the challenges he may face as a black manager in the UK, but is determined to succeed based on his merits.

He stated in a Man United podcast, 'I thought about it yesterday for some reason and my first thought was to become the manager of Manchester United.'

Fortune's dream of becoming Manchester United manager is not without its challenges, as the club has never been managed by a black manager in its history.

However, Fortune is confident in his abilities and is learning as much as possible from his current role as coach of the Under-23 side.

He said, 'From what I've been through, I'm going for the highest level. I want to be given the job because of my ability.'
