On June 23, 2020, a Facebook post in the Home Decorating Mums group sparked a heated debate over the best way to fold towels.
The Australian mum shared two pictures side-by-side showing the most common ways to fold towels, captioning the post: "How do you fold your towels?"
Option A involves folding the towel in half and half again to form a flat rectangle, while Option B requires folding the towel in half before folding one end into the centre of the towel and repeating with the remaining portion, creating a thicker, spa-like rolled finish.
Over 4,000 comments were made on the post, with the majority of mums saying they folded their towels using Option B. Some users slammed those who preferred Option A, while others pointed out that the best method depends on the size of their cupboard or the space they are putting the towels in.
One user explained that she uses Option A because her shelf easily fits two towels, while another admitted to using neither technique and prefers to roll them like those in a hotel.
