Reports of the untimely death of Ohangla legend Lady Maureen sparked widespread mourning on social media, with comedian Captain Otoyo Sibuor being the first to break the news on his Facebook page.
However, in a shocking turn of events, Maureen's mother Margaret Akinyi has confirmed that her daughter is still alive, albeit ailing.
Speaking exclusively to Mpasho.co.ke, Akinyi revealed that Maureen is currently at home recuperating and often finds it difficult to speak on the phone for extended periods, prompting people to contact her instead.
‘Watu wamepost ameaga na bado mtu ako mzima. Nashindwa ni nini inaendeLea? She’s alive and not dead. She is at home recuperating and most of the time she finds it difficult to speak on the phone for a long time so people contact me,’ Akinyi said.
Maureen has been battling health issues for two years, as revealed in a past interview with Mpasho.co.ke, where she expressed her weakness and pain.
Her mother also took the opportunity to call out Maureen’s fake friends, stating that she had not seen any genuine friends in the past year, except for those who only reached out after her daughter’s health issues became public knowledge.
