Kenyan singer Akothee has spoken out against those who spread false information about celebrities, including herself and Ohangla queen Lady Maureen, who are alive and well.

On June 23, 2020, Akothee took to social media to dispel rumors of her own death, sharing a screenshot of a post claiming she had passed away.

She also addressed rumors surrounding Lady Maureen's death, stating that the Ohangla queen is 'still alive.'

According to Akothee, people often joke about celebrities' deaths online, and she is urging those who share such posts to include both the name of the deceased and their relationship to the person, to avoid shocking the relatives of those who are still alive.

She shared a heartfelt message, saying, 'LADY Maureen IS STILL ALIVE 🙏🏾I hope this is not the Akothee I am thinking of IF it’s Akothee your Auntie or your sister then, my condolences poleni. I know there could be so many Akothees dying unnoticed, If any of your relatives die, who has the same name as me, please, Put both Names ON your posts, stop shocking my relatives. R.I.P.
