Published on June 23, 2020, Juventus secured a 2-0 win over Bologna in their Serie A match, lifting some of the pressure off coach Maurizio Sarri.

Cristiano Ronaldo made no mistake from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute, converting his first goal in two Coppa Italia matches. Paulo Dybala then curled in a brilliant second goal before halftime, securing a comfortable win for the Turin side.

With 66 points from 27 games, Juventus extended their lead to four points over Lazio, who visit Atalanta on Wednesday. Bologna, meanwhile, remain 10th in the Serie A standings.

There were no questions about the Juventus defence, which kept a fourth straight clean sheet in all competitions. The team's failure to score in two Coppa Italia games following the end of the new coronavirus stoppage, coupled with their defeat on penalties to Napoli in Wednesday's final, had raised questions over Sarri's ability to impose his style of play in his first season at the club.

However, Sarri returned Cristiano Ronaldo to his more comfortable position wide of the centre, after fielding him in an unfamiliar centre-forward role against Napoli.

The breakthrough came when Stefano Denswil grabbed Matthijs de Ligt's shirt at a corner, allowing Ronaldo to drill home his 22nd league goal of the season from the spot.

A clever backheel by Federico Bernardeschi set up the second goal for Dybala, who curled an unstoppable shot beyond goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski.
