TV anchor Anne Kiguta has bid her former colleagues a heartfelt goodbye after they were laid off from Mediamax, a move that caught many by surprise.

According to Kiguta, nearly her entire team was affected by the layoffs, which were announced on Monday, June 22, 2020.

"It takes a ❤️TEAM❤️. #Punchline is an intense programme. Often before we go on air we are a beehive of activities. But yesterday my crew put on this old school hit and well, I could not help myself. We had a great programme but little did we know that nearly my entire team would have put on air their last production at K24," she wrote on her Instagram account.

At least 100 employees were fired from the company after a long-standing stalemate between the management and workers.

Kiguta thanked her ex-colleagues for their hard work and resilience, saying that Punchline would not have been possible without them.

"It was a great pleasure working with you all and getting to know you. You are ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Thank you for all your technical support on #Punchline. I could not have done it without you. May God open wide new great doors for you all," she added.
