On Monday, President Kenyatta chaired a Parliamentary Group meeting at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, where Garissa Township MP Aden Duale was ousted as National Assembly Majority Leader.
According to Duale, he served the country for seven years, making him the first occupant of the seat under article 108 of the Constitution.
He expressed pride in his achievements, stating that over 500 government bills and 200 motions were passed under his leadership.
‘I am particularly proud that during my service, I was able to ensure that all the Bills for implementation of the Constitution, financial legislation to implement devolution, and provide services to the people of Kenya and Bills to implement the Big Four Agenda were enacted,’ Duale wrote.
He also thanked President Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto for giving him the chance to serve as the country’s first NA majority leader.
126 out of 179 Jubilee MPs had signed a petition supporting Duale’s ouster, which led to his replacement with Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya.
