On June 19, 2020, Water Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki announced the appointment of Beryl Okumu as the chairperson of the Governing Council of Kenya Water Institute in a Gazette notice.
Ms. Okumu takes over from Wavinya Ndeti, who is also the Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Transport.
Ms. Okumu has previously served as Board Chairperson of the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company (NWSC).
Major-Gen. Mohamed Abdalla Badi, the Director-General of the Nairobi Metropolitan Services, also appointed several individuals to serve as directors of the NWSC Limited, effective June 17, 2020.
These appointments include Florence Njau as Chairperson (Nairobi Branch), Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers, and several other notable individuals.
Additionally, Treasury CS Ukur Yatani announced the reappointment of Charles Makori Omanga as a member of the Board of the Kenya Revenue Authority, for a period of three years with effect from June 18, 2020.
