After a recent raid by K24, Switch TV has begun the process of rebuilding its editorial team. The Kenya Red Cross Society has placed adverts for news anchors, an assignment editor, and multimedia journalists to fill the vacant positions.
On Monday, K24 TV unveiled its new roster of talent plucked from Switch TV, while Switch is now dipping into the market to find suitable replacements. The recruitment drive comes after K24 weathered its own storms and upheavals.
Switch TV is looking for an experienced assignment editor who has worked in the industry for at least 3 years in a busy newsroom environment, preferably at a TV station. The ideal candidate will handle reporters, note down their assignments, and guide them on how to complete their tasks.
Additionally, Switch TV is seeking multimedia journalists who can comfortably work in broadcast, research, or digital journalism. The ideal candidate will have a Degree/Diploma in Journalism and at least two years of experience in a busy newsroom environment.
News anchors with at least two years of experience in the same capacity, a degree in mass communication, and eloquence in Swahili/English are also being sought. Bilingual applicants will have an added advantage.
Switch TV is looking to replace several key personnel, including Abuller Ahmed and Daniel Kituu, who joined K24 as Swahili news presenters and editors, and Nicholas Nduti, who joined K24 as a news editor.
