On June 22, 2020, a Nairobi court delivered a guilty verdict to Sirisia MP John Waluke in the Sh297 million National Cereals and Produce maize scandal.
Waluke was found guilty of receiving money in the scandal, but was acquitted over two counts of uttering documents by false pretenses.
The court ruled that there was fraud and the accused people acquired money by false pretences, with Nairobi Magistrate Elizabeth Juma stating that the accused had committed the offense.
Waluke was charged alongside Grace Wakhungu, a businessman, in the scandal.
