On Monday, June 22, 2020, a Jubilee Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting was held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, where Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya was announced as the new National Assembly majority leader, replacing Garissa Township MP Aden Duale.
The meeting was attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Jubilee Party leader, and his deputy William Ruto. Eldas MP Adan Keynan was elected as the new Jubilee PG secretary.
Mr. Kimunya expressed his commitment to pushing the agenda of the Jubilee administration in the National Assembly, stating, “There are no rebels in the Jubilee party. We do not have Jubilee “A” or “B”. I intend to cultivate one Jubilee driving one agenda.”
Mr. Keynan emphasized the importance of working with the leadership, MPs, and party members to ensure the success of the Jubilee agenda in the House.
The meeting was also attended by Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju and 174 Jubilee Coalition members of the National Assembly. State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena Mararo announced that changes in the composition of House Committees would be communicated to the Speaker of the National Assembly by Thursday.
