Amos Kimunya, the newly appointed Majority Leader, has hit the ground running, declaring that the House leadership committees will be reconstituted by Thursday.

Kimunya made the announcement on Monday, the same day he was named the new Majority Leader, replacing Garissa Town MP Aden Duale who was kicked out for being disloyal to the party.

The changes were announced at a Jubilee Coalition's Parliamentary Group meeting chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta, attended by 174 Jubilee MPs, including Deputy President William Ruto.

Five MPs were absent from the meeting, including Kimani Ngunjiri, Oscar Sudi, Caleb Kositany, Cornelly Serem, and Didmus Barasa.

Aden Keynan was named Coalition Secretary, a post previously held by Kimunya.

Kimunya stated that the changes were necessary to ensure the party delivers its services to Kenyans in the remaining two years in office.

He also vowed to steer the party in the right direction, despite the existence of 'rebels' within the party.

Four chairpersons and 12 members, including National Assembly Majority Whip Emmanuel Wangwe, lost their positions in the changes.

Already, intense lobbying is underway to fill the vacant positions, with Jubilee Party's new coalition partners keen on reaping the benefits of their newfound relationship.
