On Monday, a Jubilee Party Parliamentary Group meeting was held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), resulting in the ouster of Garissa Town MP Aden Duale as the National Assembly Majority leader.
Former finance minister Amos Kimunya took up the responsibility as the new National Assembly Majority leader, following the vote.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, the party leader, led the meeting, with Deputy President William Ruto in attendance.
After the meeting, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria took to his Facebook page to reveal the identities of the two individuals who seconded the motion to remove Aden Duale and bring in Amos Kimunya.
According to Kuria, Cate Waruguru and Sabina Chege were the two MPs who seconded the motion.
“Hon Aden Duale. History will judge you very kindly. Hon Sabina Chege and Hon Cate Waruguru seconded the motion to bring in Kimunya and remove Duale respectively. Just for record,” Kuria wrote on his Facebook page.
