As France's film industry slowly recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, a familiar sight has returned to movie sets: actors kissing on screen.
According to Culture Minister Franck Riester, actors have started kissing again on French film shoots, where they have been tested for the coronavirus.
Speaking to French radio, Riester said that while shooting in Europe's biggest film industry was allowed to restart earlier this month, filmmakers waited a bit before resuming the iconic on-screen kiss.
Reister did not reveal which film or actors were the first to get back to on-screen smooching, but he was adamant that love scenes are not a thing of the past.
"No, the kiss is not over with," Riester declared when asked if social distancing was in danger of killing off love scenes altogether.
French cinemas are set to reopen on Monday after a three-month coronavirus closure, but with drastic distancing measures that mean they can never be more than half full.
