On June 22, 2020, former Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo appeared on an Inooro TV show, where he criticized Deputy President William Ruto's new Jubilee Asili Party.
During the interview, Kabogo disagreed with Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika's assertion that Jubilee Asili is not a party but an office for like-minded leaders. Kabogo claimed that there is foul play between Jubilee and Jubilee Asili, and that the truth will come out soon.
Kabogo also accused Kihika of fooling Kenyans with the new party, stating that 'Asili' means 'Original', implying that Jubilee Asili was the original Jubilee party.
He further stated that the formation of Jubilee Asili is a clear indication that the ruling Jubilee Party is divided and that politicians should come out and explain to their constituents what is going on.
“Jubilee party should realize that Kenyans voted for them to work and represent them and are answerable to Kenyans, if there are issues blocking them from delivering to their electorates they should solve them or resign,” Kabogo stated.
